Yarn Buddy

I am a accessory freak!  It doesnt matter what I'm working on. I try to buy accessories that will help me work easier and faster. These yarn trees  the best investments I've made for my crocheting. I've tried many yarn holders and I find the wooden one is the one I prefer.

New Yarn

This is my latest haul of yarn and my first time buying the cake yarns. The only reason I bought the Mandala yarn is because a kimono/cardigan pattern that I'm crocheting was to be used. I have to say I love the yarn especially because it's a 3/light yarn. I have bought the Mandala, Caron cakes 4 which has to be made into something lacy because it's a thicker yarn, Yarn Bee has some cakes at Hobby Lobby and I did buy some of that too but that yarn has some alpaca and I'm not suppose to put it in the dryer so I'm not crazy about that, although it is very soft and is also a 3. I'm not so much into yarn that has  very different sudden color changes in it, I prefer the ombre type colors with suttle changes.

 My first ever crocheted sweater. It's a size 6-9 months so it really looks alot bigger than it really is. I'm so happy with how it turned out and I think I can now make an adult swear for myself.

What's On The Hook Lately

Lately, I've been fascinated by crocheted bags and purses. Last year I went through a phase of shawl crocheting so much so that I made 12 shawls last year and they were all different.I guess I got burned out on shawl making. Ha! I decided I wanted to make a market bag that I saw on Ravelry. The pattern called for cotton yarn and I knew I had lot's left from when I made soap bags so I just picked out the colors I thought would look good together. I wanted it to be two sided so that's why I made front and back are different. I was thinking about my daughter in law when I saw the pattern because she and my son were moving to Germany for 3 years. I thought a market bag would be perfect for when they would go shopping in the surrounding villages. Pattern looked was quite easy to make and the size was big and perfect for many. I made it during a weekend and right before they left. I diffinately have to make one for myself
